Vangl2 is phosphorylated in response to Wnt5a
Vangl2 is multiply phosphorylated on two clusters of serine and threonine residues in response to Wnt5a. Phosphorylation at serine 5, 82 and 84 appear to be required for more extensive phosphorylation at other positions. Overexpression of CK1delta promotes Vangl2 phosphorylation in CHO cells suggesting it may the activating kinase (Gao et al, 2011).
