An unspecified aldehyde dehydrogenase catalyzes the oxidation of 3-acetamidopropanal (3-AAPNAL) to N-acetyl-beta-alaninate, which is secreted (Wu et al., 2017). We infer this reaction from the existence of the product and the educt, and the existence of analogous reactions (Ambroziak et al., 1991; Riveros-Rosas et al., 2012).
