PHF10 is a bromodomain-containing protein that is specifically part of the pBAF complex (Yuan et al, 2022; Wang et al, 2022; Mashtalir et al, 2018; Mashtalir et al, 2020; Michel et al, 2018). PHF10 interacts with pBAF-specific component ARID2 as well as with SMARCC and SMARCB1 (Wang et al, 2022; Yuan et al, 2022; Mashtalir et al, 2018; Mashtalir et al, 2020). Along with BRD7, PHF10 contributes to the histone tail recognition function of pBAF (Yuan et al, 2022; Wang et al, 2022). In melanoma cells, PHF10 has been shown to interact with MYC, helping to recruit pBAF to target gene promoters (Soshnikova et al, 2021).
