Mammalian pBAF (polybromo-associated BAF) complex is paralogous to the RSC (remodel the structure of chromatin) complex of S. cerevisiae (Xue et al, 2000; reviewed in Mittal and Roberts, 2020; Cenik and Shilatifard, 2021; Wang and Tang, 2023). Mammalian pBAF shares many of the same core subunits as cBAF, but is distinguished by the presence of ARID2 in place of ARID1A or B (Wang, Cote et al, 1996; Wang, Xue et al, 1996; Xue et al, 2000; Lemon et al, 2001; Yan et al, 2005; Mashtalir et al, 2018; Mashtalir et al, 2020; de Castro 2017; Wang et al, 2022; Yuan et al, 2022; Feoktistov et al, 2023). pBAF also contains unique subunits PHF10, BRD7 and PBRM (Kaeser et al, 2008; Mashtalir et al, 2018; Mashtalir et al, 2020; Wang et al, 2022; Yuan et al, 2022; reviewed in Mittal and Roberts, 2020; Cenik and Shilatifard, 2021; Innis and Cabot, 2020).
