BMAL1:CLOCK binds one site in the RORC gene and enhances expression of RORC (inferred from mouse homologs). Binding of BMAL1:CLOCK precedes accumulation of pre-mRNA by several hours, therefore additional levels of regulation may exist (inferred from mouse homologs). In mice, expression of the Rorgamma isoform shows circadian oscillation while expression of the Rorgammat isoform is independent of the circadian clock (Mongrain et al. 2008).
