TWIST2 directly represses transcription from the CDH1 gene promoter (Yang et al. 2016, Wang et al. 2021). TWIST2-mediated repression of the CDH1 gene transcription is associated with the recruitment of RNF2 (RING1B) complexes and repressive methylation of the CDH1 gene promoter (Wang et al. 2021) and is implicated in epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) (Yang et al. 2016).
