The catalytic subunit of PI3K is recruited downstream ALK fusions and point mutants signal through the PI3K pathway as assessed by both binding and activity assays (Bai et al, 2000; Slupianek and Tomasz, 2001; Slupianek et al, 2004; Koivunen et al, 2008; George et al, 2008; Wang et al, 2011; reviewed in Roskoski, 2013; Hallberg and Palmer, 2013; Della Corte et al, 2018; Ducray et al, 2019).
