GDPD5 (Glycerophosphodiester phosphodiesterase domain-containing protein 5; GDE2) catalyzes the hydrolysis of GPCho (glycero-3-phosphocholine) to G3P (glycerol-3-phosphate) and Cho (choline). The localization and activity of human GDPD5 are inferred from those of its better-characterized mouse homolog (Gallazzini et al. 2008).
