Dengue virus NS2B3 protease complex binds and subsequently cleaves the bound mediator of IRF3 activation (MITA, STING), blocking the activation of interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3) triggered by viral infection and by foreign DNA and RNA stimulation (Yu et al., 2012; Aguirre et al., 2012; Stabell et al., 2018; Su et al., 2020).
