text SRC activation involves autophosphorylation at tyrosine residue Y419 (Brown and Cooper 1996). Binding of the Listeria monocytogenes cell wall protein InlA to E-cadherin (CDH1) triggers SRC autophosphorylation at Y419 through an unknown mechanism (Sousa et al. 2007). CDH1 engagement (adhesion) at cell-cell contacts is also known to induce SRC autophosphorylation (Fujita et al. 2002, McLachlan et al. 2007) and may involve integrins (Avizienyte et al. 2002, Martinez-Rico et al. 2010), but the process has not been fully elucidated.
