text ZBP1 (DAI) dimer formation enables recruitment of TBK1 and IRF3 to the C-terminal region of DAI in response to cytosolic DNA in murine L929 cells. This interaction is DNA-dependent as ZBP1(DAI) mutants that lack DNA binding domains neither recruited TBK1 nor activated IRF3 (Takaoka A et al 2007). Activation of IRF-3 and possibly IRF-7 promotes IFN gene expression.
