The Fbxl3:Cul1:Skp1:Rbx1 SCF E3 ligase complex polyubiqutinylates unknown lysine residues in Cry1 (Yoo et al. 2013, Hirano et al. 2013) and Cry2 (Busino et al. 2007). Multiple lysines on Cry1 appear to be capable of being ubiquitinylated (Yoo et al. 2013). The linkage between ubiquitin residues in the polyubiquitin chains occurs at lysine-48 (K48) of ubiquitin (Hirano et al. 2013).
