MiT family members dimerize
MITF forms homo and heterodimers with MiT transcription factor family members TFE3, TFEB and TFEC as assessed by electrophoretic mobility shift assays using mouse proteins. All four family members are capable of forming heterodimers in all combinations (Hesemath et al 1994; Fisher et al, 1991; Zhao et al, 1993).
