Transcription of Cdh11 gene is repressed by Bhlhe22 and Prdm8
In mouse cells, the transcription factor Bhlhe22 (also known as Bhlhb5) recruits Prdm8, a histone methyltransferase, to the first intron of the Cdh11 gene and directly represses Cdh11 transcription. The repression of Cdh11 expression by Bhlhe22 and Prdm8 is important for the proper axon targeting of corticospinal motor neurons (Ross et al. 2012).
