Foxo1:Ppargc1a binds Pck1 gene promoter
In mouse liver cells, Foxo1 and Pparcg1a, which form a complex, bind the promoter of the Pck1 gene, encoding Phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase, an enzyme involved in gluconeogenesis. Binding of Foxo1 and Pparcg1a to the Pck1 gene promoter is inhibited by insulin (Puigserver et al. 2003).
