Fkbp5 gene expression is inhibited by Mecp2
Mouse Mecp2 directly inhibits transcription of the mouse Fkbp5 gene, encoding peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase involved in trafficking of glucocorticoid receptors. Fkbp5 level is increased in Mecp2 null mice (Nuber et al. 2005, Urdinguio et al. 2008).
