DENV C protein binds Exocyst complex component 1 (EXOC1, SEC3, hSc3p), inhibiting its antiviral activity by accelerating its proteasomal degradation. This result was obtained from experiments with the Dengue serotype-2 (DENV-2) NG-C strain (Bhuvanakantham & Ng, 2013).
