DENV protease NS2B:NS3 (NS2B3) complex binds to NF-kappaB inhibitor alpha (NFKBIA, IKBA, MAD3, NFKBI) which is subsequently cleaved, resulting in NF-kB p65 and p50 nuclear translocation and activation of the extrinsic apoptotic pathway (Lin et al., 2014).
