The capsid protein of dengue virus, known as Protein C, coats the genomic +ssRNA to form a spherical/globular ribonucleocapsid of low molecular weight (Kuhn et al. 2002; Boon et al., 2023; Mebus-Antunes et al., 2022; reviewed in Apte-Sengupta et al., 2014; Tan et al., 2020). There is differing evidence for the number of C molecules involved. Here we show 60 C molecules forming the capsid.
