cAMP-dependent transcription factor 3 (ATF3) is an ATF/cAMP-responsive element-binding protein (CREB) family member whose expression is rapidly induced by a wide range of cellular stresses, including DNA damage, cellular injury, and oxidative stress (Liu et al. 2020). ATF3 regulates CD274 (PD-L1) transcription by binding to the PD-L1 promoter directly, inducing its transcription. (Liu et al., 2020, Liu et al., 2023).
