STAT3 contributes to DNMT1 expression in NPM1-ALK cells both through direct activation at the transcriptional level and by downregulating expression of miR-21, a negative regulator of DNMT1 mRNA translation (Zhang et al, 2006; Zhang et al, 2011; Ambrogio et al, 2009).
