RSV M2-1 protein can localize to the nucleus of host cells where it is found in association with the NFkappaB subunit, RELA (Transcription factor p65, TF65). Binding to RELA in the cytosol may facilitate transport of M2-1 into the nucleus (Reimers et al, 2005).
