MECOM (EVI1) is expressed in the nephric duct of the pronephros and mesonephros (inferred from mouse embryos in Boualia et al. 2013). In mouse embryos, Pax2 enhances expression of Mecom and Lhx1 is required for expression of Mecom (Boualia et al. 2013). MECOM may play a role in controlling proliferation in the mesonephros (inferred from mouse embryos in Hoyt et al. 1997).
