The transcription factor Kruppel-like factor 9 (KLF9) positively regulates CDH1 gene transcription (Zhong et al. 2018; Bai et al. 2021), acting as a direct transcriptional activator of the CDH1 gene (Bai et al. 2021). In both pancreatic (Zhong et al. 2018) and breast (Bai et al. 2021) cancer, decreased KLF9 levels are associated with reduced CDH1 expression and increased tumor invasiveness.
