SARS-CoV-1 protein 8b binds to Interferon regulatory factor 3 (IRF3), inhibiting subsequent IRF3 dimerization and activation of the expression of IRF3 target genes. Additionally it appears that 8b can act on IRF3 at step(s) downstream of its activation (Wong et al, 2018).
