KYAT3 (CCBL2) catalyzes the reaction of kynurenine and 2-oxoglutarate to form KYNA (kynurenate), L-Glu (glutamate), and H2O. KYAT3 is known only as the predicted protein product of a cloned human gene closely homologous to KYAT1 (Yu et al. 2006). The structural and catalytic properties annotated here are inferred from those of KYAT1.
