Chicken ERK2 shares 99% of amino acid sequence identity with human and mouse ERK2. Multiple sequence alignment of human, mouse and chicken ERK2 by ClustalW allowed to predict that the following chicken residues are involved in chicken ERK2 activation: Thr193 and Tyr195 corresponding to mammalian Thr185 and Tyr187.
