text	In T helper 1 cells (Th1 cells), TBX21 upregulates expression of Protein?tyrosine sulfotransferase 2 (TPST2) (inferred from mouse homologs in Lord et al. 2005). TPST1 and/or TPST2 catalyze the sulfation of tyrosine residues in the N?terminus of the cytokine receptor CXCR3, increasing its binding activity to some ligands (Gao et al. 2009). TPST2 also causes PSGL1 post-translational modifications required for binding activity, which is linked to the ability of Th1 cells to migrate and access inflamed skin (Pritchard et al 2019).
