text Pcdh19 is strongly expressed in the developing nephric duct (Gaitan and Bouchard 2006, Boualia et al. 2013). Lhx1 (also called Lim1) activates expression of Pcdh19, which is completely lost in mice homozygous null for Lhx1 (Boualia et al. 2013). A direct interaction between Lhx1 and the Pcdh19 gene was not detected (Boualia et al. 2013).
