text Expression levels of EZH2 (enhancer of zeste homolog 2), a component of the PRC2 histone methyltransferase complex, and CDH1 (E-cadherin) are inversely correlated in gastric cancer cells by RT-PCR. The siRNA-mediated knockdown of EZH2 results in CDH1 upregulation (Fujii and Ochiai 2008). EED2, a component of the PRC2 complex, is needed for the TGF-beta-mediated downregulation of the CDH1 gene expression (Oktyabri et al. 2014).
