text The HOXA2 is transcribed to yield mRNA (in carcinoma cells, Yates et al. 2010). In mouse embryos Hoxa2 mRNA is observed in rhombomere 2 and caudally through posterior hindbrain, spinal cord, larynx, lungs, vertebrae, sternum, and intestine. Hoxa2 mRNA is a target of microRNA miR-3960 in differentiating mouse osteoblasts.
