Fabp4 gene transcription is stimulated by Pparg:Rxra and Mll4,(Mll3) complex
Transcription of the Fabp4 (aP2) gene in mouse cell line HIB-1B derived from a brown adipose tissue tumor of a transgenic mouse was found to be directly stimulated by binding of the Pparg:Rxra heterodimer to an adipocyte specific enhancer (Tontonoz et al. 1994). Expression of Fabp4 is significantly down-regulated in white adipose tissue (WAT) of Kmt2c (Mll3) delta/delta mice that express H3K4 methyltransferase inactive Mll3 mutant (Lee et al. 2008). Expression of Fabp4 is completely ablated in Ncoa6-null mouse embryonic fibroblasts (MEFs), which also fail to differentiate into adipocytes (Qi et al. 2003). In mouse brown preadipocytes expressing histone 3 mutant H3.3 K4M expression of Fabp4 is reduced (Jang et al. 2019).
