Hnf1b binds the Wnt9b gene
Hnf1b binds two conserved sites 7.8 kb upstream of the Wnt9b coding region and a conserved site in the first intron of the Wnt9b gene (Lokmane et al. 2010). Based on the expression pattern of Hnf1b, the binding is believed to occur in the ureteric bud during nephron development (Lokmane et al. 2010). Wnt9b secreted by the ureteric bud induces Wnt4 expression in the renal vesicle.
