Expression of Dll1 in presomitic mesoderm
Expression of Dll1 is activated by Wnt signaling in paraxial mesoderm (Dunty et al. 2008) via Lef1, which binds multiple sites in the DLL1 promoter and recruits beta-catenin (Ctnnb1) (Galceran et al. 2004, Hofmann et al. 2004). Msgn1 binds two sites upstream of the Dll1 coding region and activates transcription during somite formation (Chalamalasetty et al. 2011, Chalamalasetty et al. 2014).
