Kdm5b demethylates histone H3 trimethyllysine-4 (H3K4me3)
Kdm5b (PLU-1) in a complex with an Fe2+ cofactor demethylates histone H3 trimethyllysine-4 (H3K4me3, lysine-5 of the preprotein) (Dahl et al. 2016, and inferred from human homologs). Kdm5b and Kdm5a participate in removing broad regions of H3K4me3 spanning genes in 2-cell stage mouse embryos (Dahl et al. 2016).
