2-Phosphoxylose phosphatase 1 (PXYLP1) dephosphorylates the xylose (Xyl) moiety of the GAG linker glycan chain of proteoglycans, making the chain available for the biosynthesis of heparan/chondoitin/dermatan (Koike et al., 2014; reviewed in Nowicka & Gręda, 2019).
