After localizing to the cell membrane, NS1 exists as a hydrophobic dimer (Pryor & Wright, 1994; reviewed in Carpio & Barrett, 2021). Secreted NS1 forms complexes of NS1 dimers with HDL particles, through interaction with the ApoA1 component (Benfrid et al., 2022; Chew et al., 2024).
