After binding phosphorylated KDR (VEGFR2), phosphoinositol 3-kinase (PI3K, PIK3CA,B,D:PIK3R2) is phosphorylated on tyrosine-458 of the regulatory subunit PIK3R2 (p85) (inferred from mouse homologs). A SRC family kinase acts upstream of the phosphorylation of PI3K and may phosphorylate PI3K directly (inferred from mouse homologs).
