Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) glycoprotein G, as part of the RSV virion, binds to the C-type lectins CD209 (DC-SIGN) and CLEC4M (L-SIGN) on the plasma membrane inducing ERK1/2 phosphorylation (Johnson et al, 2012).
