AKAP8L (also known as AKAP95) binds to the MLL2 complex and increases its histone methyltransferase activity. The interaction with the MLL2 complex involves the N-terminus of AKAP8L. AKAP8L positively regulates transcription of several cellular differentiation-related genes (Jiang et al. 2013).
