Most gamma-glutamyl transpeptidases (GGT) cleave both glutathione and glutathione conjugates. Mtb GGT cleaves nitrosoglutathione )GSNO) to Cys(NO)-Gly, thus making it soluble for transport into the cytosol (Dayaram et al. 2006).
