text Although dimerization of the FGFR1 fusions in glioblastoma, breast cancer and non small cell lung cancer hasn't been directly demonstrated, the ability of these proteins to promote transformation and tumorigenesis suggests that they form active oligomers as is the case for WT FGFR1 proteins (Singh et al, 2012; Wang et al, 2013; Wang et al, 2014; reviewed in Parker et al, 2014).
