Vdac1 translocates calcium from the cytosol to the mitochondrial intermembrane space
Vdac1 is a voltage dependent anion channel that also preferentially transports divalent calcium ions when Vdac1 is in its closed state (Gincel et al. 2001, Bathori et al. 2006, Tan and Colombini et al. 2007, Ben-Hail and Shoshan-Barmatz 2014).
