H2Se is methylated to MeSeH by H2Se methyltransferase
In the rat cytosol, a yet to be identified enzyme with hydrogen selenide methyltransferase (Hsemt) activity is involved in the methylation of hydrogen selenide (H2Se) into methylselenol aka methaneselenol (MeSeH) in tandem with S-adenosylmethionine (AdoMet) transforming into S-adenosylhomocysteine (AdoHcy) (Ohta and Suzuki 2008, Hsieh and Ganther 1977).
