PXLP-K305-Csad decarboxylates 3-sulfinoalanine to hypotaurine
Cysteine sulfinic acid decarboxylase (Csad) mediates the decarboxylase of 3-sulfinoalanine to produce hypotuarine. CSAD functions as a homodimer and requires pyridoxal phosphate as a cofactor. Purification, characterisation and activity of CSAD has been determined from rat liver (Guion-Rain et al. 1975).
