Npnt binds ITGA8
Human integrin alpha8/beta1 (ITGA8) binds mouse Nephronectin (Npnt) with high affinity but has limited affinity for fibronectin and other RGD-containing ligands (Sato et al. 2009). The basis for the specificity of the high affinity interaction is the synergy between the RGD domain and the motif EIE in the sequence LFEIFEIER contained in Npnt (Sato et al. 2009).
