xTLE4 binds HDAC1
When transfected into HEK293 cells, myc-tagged truncated versions of xTLE3 and 4 consisting of the Q and GP domains are able to co-immunoprecipitate FLAG-HDAC1 (Brantjes et al, 2001). Although the stoichiometry of this interaction has not been explicitly demonstrated, the TLE Q domain has been shown to be required for tetramerization and the repression activity of Groucho/TLE proteins, suggesting that a tetramer is the functional unit (Chen et al, 1998; Song et al, 2004)
