Uchl5 is recruited to TGF-beta receptor complex through Smad7

Endogenous UCHL5 and SMAD7 were shown to form a complex in human fibroblast cell line U4A. By expressing recombinant tagged mouse Uchl5 and Smad7, along with recombinant human TGF-beta receptors, in HEK293 cells, it was shown that Uchl5 binds Smad7 in complex with TGFBR1 (Wicks et al. 2005).
