Stat1 dimers (Saito et al. 2000, Gatto et al. 2004), Stat3 dimers (Auernhammer et al. 1999, Kamezaki et al. 2005, Hou et al. 2008), and Stat5 dimers (Emanuelli et al. 2000) bound to the promoter of the Socs3 gene activate transcription of Socs3.
