Expression of Chac1

The Chac1 gene is transcribed to yield mRNA and the mRNA is translated to yield Chac1 protein. Expression of Chac1 is activated via EIF2AK1 (HRI) and Atf4 in response to heme deficiency (Zhang et al. 2019). Trib3 represses expression of Chac1 during oxidative stress (Ord et al. 2016).
